It is with profound sadness the family of Olive Bell announces her passing.
Olive Ileen Bell (nee Forgrave) was the 4th of 5 children born to Daniel and Gertrude (Bandy) Forgrave in St. John's, QC (now Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu).
She married Thomas "Alex" Bell on December 21, 1944 and after his time in WWII as a flight lieutenant with the RCAF they moved to Courtenay in March 1946. Olive and Alex raised their 4 children on Arden Rd where they lived together until Alex's death in 1992. Olive moved to Cousins Ave in 2002 where she lived independently until her death.
Olive took pride and joy in being a housewife and mother. She delighted in keeping a beautiful home and a flourishing garden. Olive also loved entertaining her countless friends and always had fresh baking to offer anyone who came by.
In later years, she so loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a generous, loving fiercely independent woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Lesley (Richard), son Pat and daughter-in-law Ruth, her grandchildren, Melodie (Mike), Jared, Chelsea (Jonathan), Dean (Jennifer), Jason (Natalia), Brooke-Lynn, Sydney and Camryn, her 5 great-grandchildren, Millicent, Liam, Maizie, Ophelia and Gavin and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her daughter Fern (1962), husband of 48 years Alex (1992), son Robert (2016) and daughter-in-law Lene (2017).
