With sadness we announce Mom’s passing in Victoria, BC on December 21, 2017.
Her husband of 60 years, Victor Merriman (2008), and 11 of her siblings predeceased her.
Olly was born the 13th child of the Scott-Polson pioneer family in March 1930 in South Saanich. She is survived by her sister May Allen; her children Rick (Wanda), Bonnie, Rusty (Cher), Sandy (Bill), Janine (Bruce), Valeta (Lorenzo) and step-daughter Vivienne; her 12 grand children Travis, Mike (Cynthia), Victoria (Lyle), Nicholas (Lindsay), Duncan (Julina), Stephanie (Steve), Morgan (Andrew), Hayley, Darius, Chynna-Loren, Emma, and Leila (Huseyin); and her 9 great grandchildren Ben, Daisy, Jack, Sienna, Michael, Josiah, Addison, Sam, and Charlotte.
Olive loved children. After raising her own, she opened Nana’s Day Care in Port Alberni, consequently nurturing children for over 50 years.
A service will be held at First Memorial (4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C.) on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 @ 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC or your charity of choice.
