May 23, 1956 - January 8, 2020
Bruce was born in Nanaimo, on May 23, 1956, into a loving family. With his family by his side, at the age of 63, on January 8, 2020, Bruce passed away in his Nanaimo home.
Bruce is predeceased by his son, Sean Ingram and his sister-in-law, Marjorie-Ann Ingram. He will be deeply missed by his wife of over 40 years, Debbie Ingram, daughter, Erin Strongman, his legacy will live on in the lives of his cherished granddaughters, Riley and Avery. Bruce is also survived by his parents, Norman and Arleen Ingram, brothers, Raymond Ingram and Warren Ingram, and sister, Wendy (Wally) Large. Bruce was loved by the Klein family, Cathy, Laurie (Dave), and his many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Bruce lived most of his life on the Island, with the exception of his young teenage years, living in the West Indies with his family. He raised his family in the town of Campbell River before moving back to Nanaimo to be near his family.
Bruce worked most his career as a heavy duty mechanic in the forest industry. In the late part of his career, he was a highly sought after technician with Canrig Oil and Gas, travelling to all corners of the earth. Fortunately, Debbie was able to join him on some of the less remote job sites, where they could explore the world together. May 2018, Bruce was diagnosed with brain cancer bringing his career and life as he knew it, to a halt. After a long and courageous battle, he was taken away from us.
Bruce had a passion for adventure, a wanderlust to travel the world, always looked forward to the opening and closing of the New York Stock Exchange, and loved fishing with his buddies.
Bruce will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his adventurous soul.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Nanaimo Golf Club (AV Macan Room), Sunday, January 26, at 1 pm.
