May 31, 1932 - December 6, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the journey of Nona Elinor Andrews (Toly) (nee White) has ended.
She will be greatly missed by her children Lana (Gordon) McLean of Qualicum Beach, Linda Chudy of Maple Ridge, Riki Deck (Al) of Lantzville, Tony Toly (Adrianne), Noni Styan (Bob), John Andrews all of Parksville; 17 Grandchildren, 15 ½ Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Mike (1977), 3 stepsons, her granddaughter Shaina Styan (2017) and all 12 of her siblings.
Born in Dodsland Saskatchewan, she was the youngest of a large, loving family. At age 11 the family moved to B.C. and settled in Port Alberni where Nona attended school, married, and had 6 children.
In 1968 the family moved to Qualicum where she loved living on the beach at Eaglecrest. She eventually moved to Parksville and lived there for the past 23 years.
Mom had many challenges in life but always loved and fiercely supported her family. She spoke her mind; had a wonderful laugh and sense of humour; was a bit of a free spirit; and was a true Canuck fan.
She enjoyed art & music and played a mean harmonica!
Her last few years at home were more difficult with health issues but she still offered a cup of tea to all her visitors.
We are grateful for the care she received from Dr. Bell over the years and the NRGH staff in her final days.
Rest in Peace "Mama Bear"
