Nadine passed away on Aug. 18, 2022 At Glacier Views in Comox B.C. after a short battle of Covid complications her heart was strong but her body too frail to fight, so with her daughter beside her she joined her loved ones that were waiting for her. Born in Ogden Alberta on July 6, 1931.
Loving Mom, Granny, Great Granny, Sister, Sister In-law, Mother-in-law, Aunt, Cousin and friend.
At a very young age moved to Merville - Courtenay BC till the age of ten. She learnt to swim at Kitty Coleman Beach and almost drowned as she would tell at Miracle beach when the tide came in, but her sister Shirley saved her.
At the age of ten her family moved to Vancouver BC where she met her future husband George Thom on her paper route. They both attended King Ed in their Teenage years. They were eventually married and spent one year in Seattle Washington. Then moved back to Vancouver and eventually moved the family to Kitimat BC.
Mom was known for her beautiful smile and laugh she loved music and loved to dance and through her life had many different hats through jobs such as a paper girl, a receptionist at a optometrist office, deliver milk for the family business (Lake Else Dairy) worked at a dress shop, Jewellery store, was a cook, janitor, concierge for the front desk, chamber maid for the family business North Star Inn, cashier at a Beer & Wine store for her sons store; Mother to all.
She travelled the world and loved those memories of the place she visited like Hawaii, Finland, Scotland England, Cruise ships to various countries, Caribbean Islands and The East Coast of Canada. Or the cross ski trips in Cold of Winter to 100 Mile house to spend with Gayle and dear friends.
Predeceased by; Father Lawrence William Patton, Mother Ida Mackie, Brother Harold Patton, Brother Bill Patton, Sister Shirley Woollam (and her two sons David & Rick) & Son George (Geordie) Donald Thom, first husband George Thom, Good Friend and companion Dale Fretts and grandson Aaron Thom.
Survived by son James Thom wife Diane, Son Michael Thom wife Joanna, Daughter Teresa Petry husband Ray. Sister Karen Paletti husband Paul. 14 Grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren.

Our Family circle was broken today,
the Angels took our mother away.
She spread her wings
like a snow-white dove,
and flew away to Heaven above
We love you Mom...
