August 31, 1936 - January 20, 2021
On Wednesday January 20, 2021, Murray Clarke, loving father and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 84. Murray was born on August 31, 1936 in Duncan, British Columbia to James (Jim) and Margaret Clarke, and grew up in and around the Cowichan Valley.
He worked as a logger before meeting and marrying his beloved wife of 42 years, Angela Sandercombe on March 26, 1966. Together, they raised their children Lynda and Kevin.
Murray owned a portrait studio in Abbotsford and worked as a professional photographer until his retirement and had many interests, combining his love of photography and nature to create artistic photographs of local wildlife and the stunning landscapes of BC.
He was also an active member of St. Peter's Anglican Church in Comox, and enjoyed discussing matters of the spirit and philosophy with his friends, over a coffee or breakfast at a local café.
Photography was his passion and the thread that ran through his life. Anyone that knew Murray will have memories of him with a camera draped around his neck and a grin on his face.
Murray was preceded in death by his beloved wife Angela and is survived by his daughter Lynda Clarke, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Melissa Clarke, grandsons James and Caleb, sister Carol McKay (née Clarke), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday January 30, 2021 at 11 am at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Comox. To join remotely, please go to the St. Peter's youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCW20K-MXmcvMCML70j7mj6Q/videos
