It is with great great sadness, the family of Muriel Frances Roberts announce her passing Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 89 years, after a brief illness. Muriel was predeceased by her brother Lynn, as well as her parents Gladys (Mitchell) and Warren Earle Roberts. She will be remembered by her nephews Stephan, Michael and John as well as Lynn's wife Odette (Derouin) Roberts. Muriel also leaves behind a number of close friends. Special thanks to Suzie, Sammeh and Fiona for supporting her over the last number of years.
A native of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Muriel taught in a number of cities at the elementary level. She however spent the majority of her teaching career in Comox, British Columbia. Muriel touched the lives of many young children throughout her teaching career.
Muriel loved animals, travel, the arts and beautiful gardens. She was an active environmentalist and member of the NDP, even in later years. Muriel was extraordinarily well-read and loved to debate politics and current affairs.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, there will be no celebration of her life until a later date.
