June 23, 1920 - June 8, 2019
"When I go, remember that I have had a wonderful life!" Minna Cusworth was born at Mrs Reid's nursing home in Nanaimo on June 23, 1920. She
passed away on June 8, 2019.
She is predeceased by her three children, Bobby, Jimmy, and Elsie, her husband Bob Hamilton and grandson David. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Candy, Monty, Kim and Michelle.
She was an avid hiker with the Tuesday Walkers, curled at the Alberni Valley Curling club, volunteered at the Historical Society, camped with the Trailer Club, and even protested the logging of Strathcona Provincial Park. Working out at Limber Up and Curves, were highlights of her week. None of these compared to the love she showered on her family. Minna traveled the world, but was incredibly proud to name Port Alberni her home.
She would say that her five great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, were her greatest achievements. Minna was an amazing role model who was loved by her friends and family. She will be missed and she will be forever cherished in our hearts.
Our family is extremely grateful to the staff at Westhaven for the years of care and compassion given to our grandmother. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Westhaven at WCGH.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 22 at 1 pm, at the Kiwanis Hall. Stories and condolences may be left for the family at www.chapelofomemories.ca.
