Michael Noel Souter passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Sept 11, 2020 after a short but brave and hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 45.
Mike was born and raised in the Comox Valley and lived there his entire life. He graduated from Vanier Senior Secondary school in 1992. Mike loved to work, he spent a few years at odd jobs in the valley then became a bouncer at The Loft Cabaret and eventually a manager before pursuing his career in carpentry.
Mike's biggest achievement and what he prided himself most on was his 3 children, Taylor, Alexis and Zachary. He was an amazing father and would do anything for his children. They were his life and his world. Mike enjoyed watching his kids sporting games, going camping, sledding, building snow forts, mud bogging and fishing.
Mike is survived by his parents, David and Dianne, ex-wife and very close friend, Michelle, his 3 children, Taylor, Alexis and Zachary. Sister, Alison (Andrew), nephew Ethan and niece Olivia. Brother in law, Chris, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.
Mike was pre-deceased by both sets of grandparents, Roy and Margaret Grieve and George and Dorothy Souter and second wife Betty Souter.
A special thank you to Dr. Darryl Macleod who was there for not only Mike, but his family too. We appreciate how caring and kind you were through this time.
Dr. Dan, Cancer Clinic, Home Support, Home Care Nurses, Palliative Care and Red Cross, thank you for everything.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Red Cross or the BC Cancer Society.
