Michael Leigh Goodman

June 25, 1971 - December 30, 2019
We are heartbroken to tell you that our dear Mike was taken from us far too soon. He will join all those loving family members that have gone before him. Mike was predeceased by grandparents, Roy and Edna Forester and Thelma Goodman, his father in-law Dennis Brown, aunt June Fauchon and uncle Ron Goodman. Mike is survived and much loved by wife Angie, twin sons Colby and Cameron, parents Joyce and Bill and brother Jamie. Mike is also survived by a very large family of aunts, uncles and cousins and their families, as well as many good friends and co-workers.
When Mike was a cute, blond, curly haired kid of just 7 years old, he started taking classical guitar lessons from a very qualified music teacher. Mike progressed very quickly through his lessons and displayed an amazing talent.
Mike, along with mom, dad and Jamie and sometimes other family members spent a lot of time camping when he was young. He enjoyed motorbiking with his brother and cousins and played hockey, soccer, baseball and rugby. A trip of a lifetime to the UK with the Robron Rugby Team was a highlight.
When Mike graduated from high school he went commercial fishing for a few years. Next came a job digitally mapping, with a GPS, streams that had never before been mapped. Mike had been employed by MOWI (formally Marine Harvest) for the last 15 years, most recently as assistant manager at Port Elizabeth.
Mike was a very kind, thoughtful, loving man with a great sense of humour. Family was most important to him and he was an awesome husband and very proud father. He loved to support sons, Colby and Cameron, in their rock and roll musical talents with their papa in any way that he could. Mike also enjoyed helping to coach the boys' baseball team.
Mike loved photography and at one time did photo shoots for weddings and classic cars. Most recently he took amazing photos of beautiful homes for realtors. Some of his photos appeared in Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Mike had a keen interest in organic gardening and also loved to go for hikes with his sons and family dog Boomer.
A huge thank you to everyone for their love and support to our family during this difficult time. Our wonderful Mike will be lovingly tucked in our hearts and memories until we meet again.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mike on Saturday, January 25 at 1 pm at the Thunderbird Hall.
