In Loving Memory ~
In loving memory of our larger-than-life husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who passed away peacefully at Comox Valley Hospital on October 29, 2021 after a short illness.
Michael is survived by his life partner and loving wife of 66 years, Bernice Clouthier, his five children; Julianne, Stephen (Joyce), Tracey (Steve), Shawn and Shane, eleven grandchildren; Jordan, Luke, Natalia, Dane, Rachel, Brittany, Zachary, Kane, Isaac, Justin and Dylan, five great grandchildren; Kayoni, Zayda, Madyson, Farrah and Elio, sister-in-law Dorothy, brother-in-law Richard (Janet), nieces, nephews and many friends.
Dad was born in Outremont, Quebec. He grew up in Toronto and started his working life sailing the Great Lakes. At 17 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he met the love of his life, Bernice in boot camp at St. John, Quebec. Their adventures began in St. Margarets, NB and took them to Bagotville, Monte Apica, Dawson Creek, North Bay, Holberg, Comox, Richmond and finally they settled in the Comox Valley for good.
Dad always supplemented his income by moonlighting as a bartender, this perfectly suited his gregarious personality. Dad had a full, rich life having adventures with Mom travelling Europe, Mexico and snow-birding to Arizona, where they made many good friendships.
After Dad retired from the military in 1979, they moved to Richmond where Dad carried on driving school bus for special needs children, he loved that job! He has always used his driving skills even after retiring, driving for Air Cadets, Sea Cadets, and as a volunteer cancer driver. His passions in life were children and animals.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 30th, 2022 from 2pm to 6pm at Valley Vista Estates Club House, 4714 Muir Road.

In lieu of flowers and cards a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
