We are saddened to announce the passing of Michael Collins on Sunday, April 28th, 2019.
Michael was one of 14 children born to Michael and Bridget Collins in Lamaline Newfoundland.
At the age of 17, Michael settled in Edmonton, AB, where he and his wife Lillian lived and raised four children. In 1995, they moved to Vancouver Island for their retirement. Michael was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. He was strong in his beliefs, always giving of his time, assistance, and support.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian, of 60 years, Sons; Greg (Charmaine), David, Stephen and Daughter Janice Belter.
Grandchildren are Michael, Kevin, Madeline, Hannah, Devin, Peter, Ted, and Christian.
Michael is also survived by three brothers, one sister, and many nieces and nephews.
A social gathering of Mike's friends will be held at Fairwinds Golf Club (Arbutus Room), Sunday, May 19th, 2019 from 2-4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family thanks you for donations to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Foundation.
