December 12, 1937 - October 3, 2021
Michael David Phoenix, Captain RCAF (ret'd) passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021, in Courtenay, B.C.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years; Sandra, his children; Allan (Emily), Sean (Dede), Shannon (Darryl), one grandchild (Edna), and a sister; Marie (Tom).
David was born on December 12, 1937, in Toronto, Ontario. He joined the RCAF in 1960, graduation and receiving his wings as a Radio Officer in 1961. After two tours in 415 Squadron and one in RCAF Station Pagwa he received his pilot wings in the fall of 1969.
While practice flying in Winnipeg, he met Sandra Selch before his second tour on 415 Squadron and they spent 55 wonderful years together.
His career took he and his family across Canada from PEI, to Winnipeg, to Comox, to Victoria and Ottawa. After retiring, he and Sandra moved to Winnipeg for a number of years before settling down in the Comox, B.C. area.

Cremation has taken place in keeping with his wishes, and there will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Telford, Toneff, and Boyd Funeral Services.
