It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Merle (Mom) at the age of 94. Merle was born at raised in the Cowichan Valley. She worked for the Government until she retired. She then enjoyed travel- ling to many places around the world. She was an amazingly kind lady and will be missed by those that had the pleasure on knowing her.
Predeased by her husband Jim Girdlestone in 2017
She leaves behind her daughter Donna (Rod) Fell, her son Stephen (Brenda) Clarke children from her first marriage to DonClarke, who died in a tragic boating accident in 1960. She also leaves behind her stepson Bruce (Karen) Girdlestone. 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren
