May 14, 1928 - April 11, 2021
On Sunday, April 11, 2021 our Dad and Papa Maurice Page passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Maurice was predeceased by his wife Mildred, his father Jean Joseph Pagé, his mother Lorette Pagé, brothers Jean Paul and Gerard and his sister Cecile (Kiki).
He is survived by his daughters Myra Pagé and Mitzi Funk (Mike), his granddaughter Mary, his brothers Pierre (Noelle) and Joseph (Constance), sisters Micheline (Claude), Denise, Hélène, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad was born on May 14, 1928 in Montreal, Quebec. He met the love of his life Mildred in 1952 in Senneterre Quebec and were married June 28, 1953 in Perron, Quebec, and then moved to Elliot Lake, Ontario.
Myra was born in Espanola and in 1961 the family moved to Ucluelet where Mitzi was born in Tofino. After the mine closed in Ucluelet the family ended up moving to Campbell River in 1970 where Dad worked at Western Mines (Myra Falls) for the next 19 years before retiring as surface foreman.
He had a strong work ethic and in those 19 years only called in sick once after being electrocuted with 4160 volts, but in typical Dad style was back at work the next day.
Dad was a member of the Eagles, the Retired Eagles Activity Club and Eagles on Wheels. After retirement he was the keeper of the Eagles pull tab machine for over twenty years which helped fund many of the trips he and mom took with REAC.
He was also one of the original members of the Campbell River Rock and Gem Club. Many trips with mom were had searching and collecting rocks, including rockhounding in New Zealand and Australia. Dad was always willing to always go on Mom's extremely well-planned adventures, and many adventures they had; they visited 44 countries and 6 continents.
Dad was fortunate to spend his final years at Evergreen Seniors Home and discovered his second family there. We are so grateful for the amazing care, love and support he received each and every day by all the staff. It is impossible to name all of you but everyone's dedication and compassion made Dad's stay there a happy one and he made friends with you all. Thank you.
A gathering for Dad will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Campbell River Evergreen Seniors Home.
