In loving memory ~
On September 22, 2022 Maureen passed away peacefully in her sleep at Red Deer Hospice.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bertram and Grace Whitton, brothers Jack, Norman and Eric, sisters Connie and Edna, and loving husband Clive.
Maureen will be remembered with love by her three daughters Elizabeth (Jim), Susan (Ken), and Rosemary (Glen); siblings William and Nancy; grandchildren Derek (Kety), Michelle (David), Joel (Pam), Gillian, Elena, and Genevieve; and great grandchildren Sarah-Isabella, William, Samuel, and Dimitriy; her nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A young beauty with a dazzling smile, Maureen left war-weary England in 1958 at the age of 22, lured by a dream to see rippling waves of wheat on the Canadian prairies. She worked as a nurse in Swift Current, SK, where she enchanted a tall handsome Englishman who loved to whistle. She married Clive, continued nursing, and had three lively girls. Maureen lived in Grande Prairie, AB, for over thirty years before she and Clive retired to Comox, BC. The world will miss her smile. Her family will miss her every day for the rest of their lives.
A private ceremony will be held at Eventide Funeral Home in Red Deer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Red Deer Hospice.
