In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maureen on May 21, 2022 with her family by her side at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Maureen was one of two children of Daniel and Evelyn Hopkins. She is survived by her son Terry (Diane), daughter Michelle, brother Danny (Cheryl) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Maureen was born in Powell River, after moving to many locations in BC and Alberta where father went to start a pulp mills, she settled in Ladysmith in 1959.
Maureen attendance Ladysmith High School until graduation, (very athletic in track and field) and worked at the local grocery store, until she met the BIG CHEWY and fell in love and began her family.
Maureen was a quiet person staying mainly at home enjoying her pool and pool parties. She loved decorating her house at Christmas time, and she would probably deny it, but we know she loved it when Chewy decorated the house with Christmas lights.
Maureen loved going to the race tracks with Terry at any opportunity. Maureen also loved gardening and feeding her hummingbirds and loved going to Transfer beach with Michelle any chance they could get and listen to country music and watch the fireworks.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Nanaimo General Hospital especially Dr. Towers who is a very special person.
As Maureen's request there will be no service.
Maureen you will be loved and missed for forever and always.
