Mary Louise Clarke passed peacefully into the arms of her loving Lord & Saviour on February 22, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Clarke, their first son infant "Clarke", her parents Robert and Mina, and Mary's first husband Herb Edmonds. She leaves behind, her son William (Laura & Connor), daughter Kathleen (Jeff (Gord & Shelly), Serena, Kaelyn & Marin), her brother Michael (Sandra, Corey, Shelly, Dwayne & Liam), nieces, nephews & loving crew, Barb (Bob), Sharon (Doug), Clarke & John (Lynn).

Mom was born in Victoria, B.C. on May 20, 1931. The Valedictorian of her class at Mt. View High School, she was always an avid reader and writer who enjoyed a good laugh to British comedy, balanced with the suspense of a hair-raising mystery production.

Mom was a woman of deep faith in God, with her favorite bible verse, Psalm 48 marked in her bible: "Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised." As a reflection of that favorite verse, mom enjoyed playing piano, singing and taking part in community and church choir groups in the Comox Valley. Her life was a testimony of her deep faith, especially to her kids, as she always cared for us in a gentle, soft- spoken manner. Her latter years would especially draw on the strength and courage that faith gave her as she braved the illness of Alzheimer's disease.

Our family would like to express our deep appreciation to Dr. Susan Hunter and the care team at the Comox Valley Senior's Village, for your tender and compassionate care of our mom in her final years. Also, to her loving and faithful community of Church friends, thank you.

Our mom was always full to the brim with wise sayings, many of them reflected her Irish genealogy, and with a cup of tea and a piece of homemade fudge, we leave you this blessing in her honor:

"May you see God's light on the path ahead when the road you walk is dark.

May you always hear, even in your hour of sorrow, the gentle singing of the lark.

When times are hard, may hardness never turn your heart to stone.

May you always remember, when the shadows fall - you do not walk alone."
