April 23, 1919 - June 22, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Leskiw nee Cruickshank.
Mary was born in Riverhurst, Sask & moved to Langley Prairie, BC in 1925. In 1929, her father got a job installing turbines in the new mill at Youbou & his love of the small lake town became a family move to Vancouver Island.
Mary loved her life on Lake Cowichan, where she met her husband Leonard Northup & eventually moved to the mainland with her young family in 1946 & then moved to Coquitlam in 1948.
Mary moved to Campbell River 10 years ago after living in New Westminster for 35 years. She had an amazing life of 102 years which included lots of travelling, camping, learning to play golf in her 50's and loving a bridge game. She accumulated many friends along the way & she especially had great pride in her family.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Len in 1967, her grandson David Pollock, in 1995, 2nd husband William in 2006 & sister Jean Moberg in 1916.
Left to mourn her passing is her son Everett (Krysia) Northup, Victoria; daughter Peggy (Ron) Pollock, Campbell River; grandchildren Jon (Rachel) Northup, Toronto & Ryan (Lisa) Pollock, Campbell River; great-grandchildren Liam & Moira Northup; Rhianna & Kaelen Pollock.
