May 15, 1950 - April 12, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Marvin Herbert announces his passing after a short fight with Covid 19 at the age of 70 years.
Marvin was born in Oliver, BC on May 15, 1950, then moved to Vancouver and in 1956 the family moved to Vancouver Island.
As a young man, Marvin loved the outdoors and sports especially soccer. He also had a great love for animals, over the course of his life he had several dogs, cats, pigeons, ducks and even brought home a cow one day! (mom was not impressed).
Marvin had a great love for life, he was a happy, optimistic person, once you met him you never forgot him. He had a great sense of humor and was always thinking of some big dream, his dream came true when he moved to California where he built a very successful construction company and lived there until he retired and then moved to Texas.
One of Marvin's past times was music, he loved to sing and over the course of his life he memorized hundreds of songs, one of his favorites was "I've Been Everywhere Man" and now he has.......
Marvin will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 24 years, Susana, his daughter Tammy (Mike) Watts, his step-daughter Lily (John) Lazzari his three sisters Bev(Ken) Doumont, Marlene(Dick) Foran, Doris Frain. He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren Jacob, Breanna, Austin & Sarah. Marvin also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Adele and Bill Herbert, his mother-in-law Celia. Marvin's passing has left a hole in our hearts, and he will be missed forever by all those who loved him. Mom will at last be reunited with her "sunny boy".
There will be a celebration of Marvin's life sometime in the future when it is safe to gather.
