Marko Mrdeza passed away November 8th, 2018 surrounded by nature just outside Campbell River, BC following a great day of picking white pine mushrooms. Born in Lepenica Croatia on March 1, 1940, he was a proud father, husband, brother, son and Croat. He moved to Canada in 1971 and worked as a miner in NWT where he met his spouse Sandra. They moved to Campbell River in 1980 and soon after started a family. He has two daughters, Adrian and Stephanie, two grandchildren Ari and Cohen and a loyal canine companion, Rider.

Marko was a man of integrity and unwaveringly stood for what he believed in. He was generous, kind, hardworking, loyal and truly one of a kind. Marko cared deeply for his family and those close to him, he also had an immense respect for the land and nature. He loved gardening and being outdoors and could spend from sun up to sun down in the bush searching for mushrooms or fishing on a river or lake. He will be deeply, deeply missed.

A memorial will be held at the Coast Discovery Inn on Saturday, November 17th at 1pm. Donations to the Campbell River Search and Rescue Society are requested in lieu of flowers.
