It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mark at age 63 in Duncan B.C.
He will be greatly missed by his son Blake (Tamaris), daughter Pei Pei and her mother Hui Yin, Mark's mother Louise, brothers Brian (Laura), Des (Pam), Ralph (Collette), John (Audrey), brother-in-law Dan Ferguson, more nieces and nephews to count. Mark was predeceased by his brother Gregory, and father John.
Mark was born in Revelstoke BC and spent the majority of his life working in the Forest Industry from Prince Rupert to Sooke BC. He mastered the art of falling trees and did so safely for many years without injury. He was also very well known for his ability to run heavy machinery and build roads.
In the early 1980's Mark worked for Husby Forest products in Haida Gwaii, where he was an innovator in moving logs to the road with a loader. This technique would now be called Hoe Chucking, which is an efficient harvesting method in the Forest industry today.
Mark was always one to think outside the box, he challenged the status quo on everything in life, which included himself. Mark wasn't one for politics or bureaucracy, and this usually led to long heated and passionate debates on world issues, or life in general with whoever would listen.
Mark loved fishing where he enjoyed his freedom on the ocean, particularly on the North Coast, especially with some big fish in his boat. Tight lines brother.
