Marijke Antonetta Morrison passed on to a better place after a courageous 11 year battle with cancer.

Born and raised in the Netherlands she came to Canada in 1974. Trained as a RN, Marijke worked at Mount St Mary's then Queen Alexandria's Hospital for Children in Victoria prior to becoming a home support worker here as well as in Ottawa.

Marijke leaves behind her husband John of 40 years, her sons Mark (Danielle) and Michael and a multitude of friends in Victoria, the Cowichan Valley, as well as Ottawa and the Netherlands.

Family would like to thank the BC Cancer Clinic for their support, particularly Marijke's Oncologists Dr Joe, Dr Ksienski, the pain management team and the dedicated nursing staff in the chemo lounge.

Also our sincerest gratitude to the 3rd floor staff of the Cowichan District Hospital, where Marijke spent her last days.

Special thanks to our family doctor, Dr Grymaloski, for his moral support and assistance during Marijke's long journey.
