Marie Gertrude Nicole 'Nikki' Goodman passed away on June 26, 2020 from acute leukemia at age 80.
Nikki was born and raised in Val-D'Or Quebec. She met Glenn Goodman (deceased) at CFB Bagotville. Their 25 year marriage resulted in 3 children and many moves across Canada and into the USA.
She later married Frank Hawkins (deceased) who also had a military background.
Nikki was well known for her joie de vivre and colorful language- "pardon my French" - was meant for her. She was a great hostess and loved a good party. She was also always willing to lend a hand where needed, and had many jobs over the years including being the first female gas jockey at the Douglas St. Shell station in 1969. She will be dearly missed.
Nikki is survived by her children, Glenda (Ron), Gary (Nancy), Donald (Lea) and grandchildren, Eric (Willow), Jason, and Kaitlin, and her beloved cat Louis.
Nikki wanted to thank all the friends at the RC Legion Courtenay branch #17 that she had fun with over the 35 years she'd been a member.
The family would also like to thank the helpful folks at Classic lifetime Care - Glenda, Lisa, Julie & Tammy. Denice at North Island VIHA, the MAID team, and her neighbours.
There will be no service, but she requested instead of flowers, please support the SPCA.
