In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved wife and Mother Maria Senerchia who passed away on June 27th, 2025. Maria was born on September 29, 1941, in Calitri, Italy. She married the love of her life Michele Senerchia on January 17, 1962, and settled in Zurich Switzerland where Michele worked construction and Maria worked in a Factory. In 1966 they immigrated to Cranbrook BC where Michele worked for the Dept of highways and Maria as a chamber maid for the Nomad Motel. She then was a stay at home mother after Anthony was born. Due to a job transfer, the family moved to Courtenay where they built a beautiful life, raising their son Anthony.
Maria was a very devoted wife to Michele, a loving mother and devoted Nonna to her 2 grandchildren.
Her love for family was unwavering. She was a source of comfort and strength. Maria always ensured a warm home with no shortage of great Italian cooking. Always a gracious host, never letting anyone go hungry. Maria was a devoted Catholic, attending Sunday masses was a main priority.
Maria was predeceased by her sister, Amelia, and her 2 brothers Guiseppe and Rocco. She leaves to mourn her husband Michele of 63 years, son Anthony and her 2 grandchildren Connor and Luca. Also she leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered for her incredible heart for others.
Maria was cremated on June 30, 2025 and at her request no funeral services to be held.
