March 14, 1930 - September 14, 2022
On September 14th, 2022, our dear mamá, abuela, tía and amiga passed peacefully, at the age of 92 years old.
Maria was born March 14th, 1930, to Miguel De la Vega Vega, and Maria Rodriguez Soriano.
Maria travelled to Canada from Mexico in the 1960's and started her journey on Gabriola Island, before permanently residing in Nanaimo.
She was an avid gardener and plant magician. So much that even the petals that had fallen off were still saved. A natural artist both with pencil and paintbrush and a love for animals, that forever grew.
The enthusiasm she had when telling stories, pulled you in as if you were there. She was engaging and captivating with only the simplest of words.
She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
Survived by her loving partner Claude, daughter Lisa, Grandchildren: Zabrina (Dane), Colton (Courtney), and darling great grandchildren: Kaydence, Hadlee and Axell.
Anyone who knew Maria, will remember her for her infectious laugh, kind heart, caring nature and a voice you could never forget.
Not a moment will pass that her presence will not be missed.
