Mary was born on October 9, 1941 in Slootdorp, Holland. She passed away peacefully, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family in her home on December 19, 2018.

Mary immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951 where they settled in Duncan. In 1963 she married Art Wynans, settling in Port Alberni where they raised 5 children. She could be found Labor Day Weekend barbequing fish alongside her family at the World-Famous Kiwanis Salmon BBQ at the Salmon Festival using the "secret sauce" recipe she helped create. She enjoyed projects and working with her hands and took pride in refinishing many of the rooms in her heritage home and crocheting many beautiful items for her family.

Mary was predeceased by her infant son, Bernard, parents Jan & Helen Roozendaal, brothers Sam & Jack Roozendaal and sister Dina Bolton.

She is survived by husband Art, daughter Jacky Durrie, sons Glenn (Marnie), Chris (Terri-Ann), Greg (Saskia) and Arthur (Elizabeth) and grandchildren Angus (Olena), Kieran, Angela (James), Christina (Alex), Nathaniel (Drew), Timothy, Jonah, Samuel, Dominic and Isaac. Mary is also survived by her sisters - Ann Van Elst, Margaret (Louis) Coppens, Helen Roozendaal, and Johanna (Barry) Hagen, and many nieces and nephews.
