In loving memory
The Party is Over - The inscription Marguerite requested for her gravestone.
Marguerite was from Rosetown, Sask. She married Frank Kebe in 1955: the wedding was officiated by her newly ordained brother Fr. Robert Ogle. Their children were Jennifer French (d. 2002), Francine Kebe of Port Alberni, Marianne Kebe of Qualicum Beach, Katheryn Kebe (David Fast) of Chemainus, and granddaughter Dr. Christina Ince (Rob). Marguerite was predeceased by her parents Henry and Annie Ogle, siblings Robert, Chuck, Dorothy and Mary Lou Ogle. She was
widowed in 1978 and remarried to Bill Stevens in 1982, who died in 1997.
Her career was as a legal secretary. She studied fine arts at U. of C.. She and Bill moved to Qualicum Beach in 1987. Marguerite had a lifelong passion for the arts, high-level sewing, clothing design and travel. She taught at The Old School Art Centre and had a studio there, participating in many shows. She volunteered at the Echo Player Theatre for about 25 years as a costume designer. Marguerite could tell stories from her decades of travelling in Europe, China, North Africa and living in Brazil and New Orleans. She was celebrated as a consummate hostess and a skillful and adventurous cook.
The family expresses our gratitude to Dr. Biglow and to the team at Qualicum Manor where she spent her final 4 1/2 years. Although suffering from Alzheimer's, mom was always kept comfortable and happy and would often say she had had a great life. A private family service was held.
