Margaret (Peggy) passed away on October 11, 2021 (Thanksgiving) at The Views in Comox.
Peggy was born in Dublin, Ireland on July 1, 1921. Married in London, England in 1944 to George Scott Bates and moved to Truro, NS as a war bride in 1945. Predeceased by husband Scott in 1979 and daughter Chris Wells in 2011. Survived by 2 children; Wayne (Patricia) Truro, NS, Philip (Colleen) Courtenay. Five grandchildren; Jamie, Cassidy and Shawn of Courtenay, Krista of England, Amber of Lunenburg, NS and at least 2 great grandchildren.
Peggy operated "Pegs" lunch in Bible Hill Truro for over 20 years. Peggy also taught in Success Business College in Truro from 1972 to 1980. She moved to Courtenay in 1985. She tried going back to Truro a couple of times, but then settled back in the Comox Valley.
A special thanks to all her friends and to all the amazing caregivers over the last three years at The Views, they got Peggy to her 100th year.
