Margaret moved to Port Alberni as a young child and attained all her education there, graduating from ADHS District High School. Soon after graduating, she married her high school sweetheart David in 1950 and soon began their family. Margaret was a stay at home Mom who would always lovingly be attending to the care and needs of her family. Around 1971, Margaret, David and the Davenports purchased the Sport and Auto Centre on lower 3rd Ave and a few years later decided to purchase and operate the store on their own, where Margaret and David worked together in their family business till 1978.

Margaret was a woman of many talents and achievements, one of those being a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 50 years until health problems set in. Some of her perfected talents were that she was a wonderful seamstress, making most of the clothing for her young family and continuing into their adulthood, then starting again with her grandchildren. Her hands were never idle, she could be found knitting sweaters to slippers to crocheting tablecloths and doilies. She loved baking, gardening, canning and Mom took great pride in sending her children special Christmas packages filled with her homemade fruitcakes and Christmas pudding, highly prized dill pickles and smoked salmon. We all greatly appreciated the work and love Mom put into each gift we received. Marg and Dave also enjoyed camping in their RV and fishing in the Caromar and later the Spinning Wheel, where one of Dave's boating adventures took them on a trip up to Alaska. Margaret could do anything she set her mind to and the greatest of that was to be the best mother she could be. She was loved greatly and will be dearly missed. Mom you will always be in our hearts forever.

A combined Celebration of Life will be held for Margaret and David (March 11/31 - Sep 16/17) from 1 pm - 4 pm, Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Best Western Barclay Hotel, 4277 Stamp Avenue, Port Alberni, BC.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Fir Park for all the great care Mom received over the past 3 years in her 'home away from home'. To Lisa for all the great 'hairdos' and to her long attending physician Dr. Fraser
