Margaret Grace Haustein (nee Brown) was born in Lethbridge, AB on September 14, 1959, and passed away suddenly on August 20, 2018 at the age of 58.
Margaret's family moved to Campbell River when she was 14 and she graduated from Carihi in 1977. During this time, she met the love of her life, Harold. They married in September 1986.
At the age of 19, Margaret started working for the City of Campbell River, retiring in 2015. Throughout her 36 years of service with the City, she undeniably loved her job. Many in the City will remember Margaret's presence in the Finance Department, where her friendly demeanor and smiling face were a constant.
Margaret loved hiking and exploring the outdoors with her husband and their German Shepherds. She loved life. Margaret was unconditionally devoted to her parents, and always showed unfailing kindness and consideration as she cared for others long before looking after her own needs.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Harold, her dog Zak, her parents, Roy and Beryl, her sister, Frances (Stuart), her brother, David, her nieces and nephew. Numerous coworkers and friends will also miss her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Maritime Heritage Centre on September 19, 2018 at 5:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society (MARS Wildlife Rescue Centre).
