November 25, 2019
October 1935 – November 2019 ~ Alice passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 25 after her journey with Alzheimer’s.
Alice was a loyal wife of 53 years to Ronald Faganello and a devoted Mother to Ronei Faganello (Dirk) and Paul Faganello (Tara) and loving Grandmother to Kaita, Lucciano, Maxximos. Alice was born in Saskatchewan, moving to the Nanaimo area as a child. She spent her happiest years residing for 45 years in Lantzville BC where she raised her family.
For the last three years she was lovingly cared for by the staff at the Nanaimo Seniors Village. She was most happy when hiking, walking, swimming, shopping, baking and volunteering. A life-long volunteer for many groups including the Nanaimo AIDS chapter, the NDP party, BC Cancer Agency and the Nanaimo Hospice Thrift Store. Most knew Alice to be incredibly fashionable, creative and fun. She loved collecting antiques and china and was a naturally gifted decorator. Alice was never without a Dachshund, often joking she preferred dogs over people. She laughed easily and was always a champion for the underdog. The measure of her life maybe seen in the values and traits of her children and grandchildren – most notably, loyalty, honesty, compassion, acceptance, and sharp wit.
A private service will be held for her in the spring, when the sun returns and the flowers are blossoming again. Close friends and family will be notified when a date is set. Please contact her daughter at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be notified.
