March 19, 1934 - June 18, 2019
A life time resident of Youbou/Lake Cowichan passed away at CDH peacefully after a lengthy battle with Lymphoma.
Lyn grew up in Youbou where he attended Yount School as a young boy. In his high school years he was a member of the basketball, rugby and baseball teams. He also was an active member of the "Dumbells Baseball" team. After graduation he worked as a sawyer for many years at the Youbou Mill. Later in life he worked at Community Services as a maintenance man before retiring.
Lyn spent many happy times camping and boating, fishing around the lake. He loved the Canucks and Blue Jays.
He was the youngest of 3 siblings. Predeceased by his parents George and Dora Caplin. Survived by his brother Don Caplin and sister Phyllis Kenna and their families; Uncle Ken May; Lyn's children Deena (Keith) Nelson, Sandra Boyd, Janice (Dan) Brooks, Stephen (Calli) Thorne and their mom Maureen Holgate; his grandchildren Kurt (Brenda), Kerry, Jordy, Craig, Gary, Jolene, Devin (Emily) and 10 great grandchildren.
We have much appreciated the kindness and care given to our dad over the past year from Dr. Augereau, Community Nurses, Home Support and all the hospital staff at CDH.
