Lyle Molyneaux, beloved husband of Patricia Molyneaux, passed away peacefully with family at his side in Duncan, BC at the age of 72 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Brian Molyneaux (Wendy), nephew Freddie, niece Lily all of South Hampton, England; niece Alex (Michael) and grand nephew Alfie of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as extended family: Doug (Ghislaine) Carter, Kathy (Kirk) Sutherland, Debra (Dale) Plante, Linda Plante, Geri Carter, Kyle Plante whom he shared a bond with, as well as by numerous other nieces and nephews.
Lyle will be missed by family and friends in both Alberta and BC. He was predeceased by his father Fred Molyneaux, mother Mary Molyneaux (Hodge), Aunt Elda and Uncle Harry whom held a special place in his heart; as well as by his mother in law Doris Carter, sister and brother in law Joan and Hans Dietrich and brother in law Robert Carter.
Lyle was born in Winnipeg and his father being in the armed forces led the family to relocate to several bases in Canada, Italy and Germany. They arrived in Grande Prairie, AB in 1964 where Lyle met the love of his life Patricia Carter. They were married in 1969 and resided in G.P. until 2006.
During his time there, he was a CPA, past president of the Rotary Club and founding member of the Stompede in Grande Prairie. Both Lyle and Pat retired, her from teaching, and moved to Duncan, BC. Lyle was an accomplished golfer and he and Pat became members at the GP Golf and Country Club and the Cowichan Golf Club where they met many friends.
They holidayed and golfed throughout the world. Vancouver Island was the perfect retirement place for Lyle. He truly loved nature and walking his special dog, Ember. He fished, swam and even attempted paddle boarding. We will miss his wonderful sense of humor and musical ability.
A heartfelt thank you to Carol Eschak (RN) and Stephanie Eschak (RNP) for the loving care they gave Lyle in his final days.
