Louis Ng

On Sunday October 27th, 2019, Louis Ng, loving husband and father of two passed away at age 58, following a sudden brain aneurysm just days before.
Louis was born January, 10th, 1961 in Hong Kong to Sheut Ching (mother) and Yin Siu (father). Raised by a single mother of four, his mother immigrated the family of five to Canada in the 1970's where he eventually settled in Nanaimo and purchased his first and current home in South Nanaimo. Married in 1998 to his loving wife Lisa, the pair have two adoring children, Christina age 14 and Patrick age 17.
Known for his dedication to family and work, love of sports and infectious smile, Louis was dearly loved by his family, friends and customers who he loyally served over his 40 year career in customer service. During his early years in Nanaimo Louis served up delicious Fish and chips and mile high pies at his very own central Nanaimo restaurant Ben's Fish and Chips. Following his time as a restauranteur Louis spent over 20 years serving up smiles over hot meals at the MGM Restaurant as a waiter and supervisor. Louis treasured the relationships he made with his regular customers, getting to share in their lives, watching their families grow and chatting sports with fellow avid sports fans. He will be sorely missed by many.
Louis is survived by his wife Lisa; daughter Christina; son Patrick; mother Shuet Ching; three older siblings, Helen, Kenny and Lily; five nephews, Kevin, Lenny, Jeffrey, Edward, David and one niece Tricia.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday November 6th 2019 at the Sands Funeral Chapel in Nanaimo followed by a Celebration of Life at the MGM Restaurant at 3:30 pm.
