Lorraine Sylvia Percival (nee Ashley)

Lorraine Sylvia Percival (nee Ashley)

It was with great sadness that we announce the passing our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great friend.

Lorraine was born in Vancouver on January 20, 1939. Lorraine is predeceased by her parents and sister Dorothy.

She leaves her husband George of 60 years, Ricky and family, Denise (Robert) Beland and family, Stephen and family, and Michelle (Jamie) Leach and family.

Lorraine is a champion in her own rights. She played grass hockey, track and field in her younger days. In 1950 Lorraine was May Queen of North Burnaby representing Rosser School. She shook the hand of the Queen Elizabeth, Princess and the Duke of Edinburgh. She fought a long hard battle and in the end… she did it her way. Be Free!

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cancer Society of BC in Lorraine’s name. Celebration of Life will be held on June 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm, 6165 Nabor Street, Nanaimo, BC.
