April 4, 1948 - May 30, 2023
In Loving Memory ~
Linda Dianne Webster Hjelholt was born on April 4, 1948, and passed away on May 30, 2023. Linda was born in Port Alberni, British Columbia, to parents Ines and Vernon Webster in 1948. She lived most of her life in the Alberni Valley and spent many vacations on her family's islands in the Broken Group.
She worked at Woodward's for many years in the cosmetics and drug department, and travelled to Spain in the 1960's to be with her sister where she lived and made leatherwork.
Linda married in 1976 and went on to have two daughters who were the joy of her life. Linda was very beautiful, and very domestic, a stay at home mother and wife, spending many years of her life in a traditional way cooking and cleaning for her family.
Her house was always spotless and one of her greatest joys was baking and cooking and making elaborate dishes, always trying something new and forever in search of the right recipe. Linda was raised in a Swedish speaking home and greatly loved her mother and grandmother. She was a breeder of large standard poodles for many years and always loved children and animals.
Linda had a generous heart, always thinking of everyone else first, and was kind, compassionate and loving. Intelligent, with a strong work ethic, her mind was sharp until the very end. Linda was very creative and artistic and good at everything she touched, she loved drawing and poetry and putting colours together, and her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She was by far the best mother anyone could ever have.
In happier times, Linda always enjoyed a good episode of Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple" and she never missed "Coronation Street". Linda will be greatly missed by anyone who was lucky enough to love her.
Linda was predeceased by her mother Ines Salo Webster, father Vernon Webster, grandmother Edith Forsberg, brother Calvin Webster, and nephew Joseph Hart.
She leaves behind her husband Erik Hjelholt; daughters Melinda and Lucinda; her sister Ann Lea Webster; nephews and nieces John, Nancy, Cindy, Colin, Elizabeth, Søren, and Lise; her grandchildren Kasimir, Alastair, Magnus, Tør, Ko Ko and Vukašin; and great grandchildren Alexis and Dawn.

Update: Due to uncertainty regarding road closures resulting from the forest fires along the highway into Port Alberni, the Memorial Tea for my mom will be postponed to a later date (to be determined).

Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, for which Linda volunteered, would be appreciated.
Thank you for all your love, support, and comfort during this difficult time.
