Linda Carolyn Pugh

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Linda Carolyn Pugh, June 13, 2022. Linda passed away while being cared for in Hospice after a brave and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Linda is predeceased by her father, Donald Pugh, mother, Virginia Pugh, older sister Elaine and the many dogs that were very special to her. Linda is survived by her husband Frank Carter.
Linda was born in Gimli, Manitoba. She lived in Courtenay, Edmonton and Vancouver. She returned to Courtenay to care for her father. Linda attended universities in BC and Quebec. Linda had various degrees including Journalism and French. In recent years, Linda completed a masters degree in social work from Dalhousie University and started a new career working for Vancouver Island Health Authority as a counselor. She worked in Nanaimo, Courtenay and in Campbell River. It was a job she loved. She met Frank 12 years ago, May 24, hiking on Rosewall Creek trail. Frank and Linda were married September the 6th, 2014. Linda loved to hike, camp, read and spend time with her friends. She also loved to travel, having visited to far off Australia, Scotland and Ireland along with friends and her father.
Linda had wonderful care at Comox Valley Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, Royal Jubilee and the BC Cancer Clinic. We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, paramedics and other care workers for their hard work and for being so kind and caring. A special thank you to Dr. Rachel Mackenzie, Linda's GP, for her caring and loving support and to the Hospice care team in Comox for caring for Linda over the past few weeks. We'd also like to thank Penny Hacking for the support she has shown the Pugh family for many years.
Linda leaves behind her husband and his family, her dog Remi, cousins, her co-workers at Island Health and friends all over the world, too numerous to mention. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, flowers and gifts.

A "Gathering of Family and Friends" to share stories and memories will take place on Thursday June 30th 2022 at 1:00PM in The Garden Room of Comox Valley Funeral Home 1101 Ryan Rd Courtenay BC.
