In Loving Memory ~
On Friday June 24th, 2022 Linda's pain and suffering came to an end as she passed away peacefully at NRGH surrounded by her family after a brave battle with cancer.
She is predeceased by her mother and father, Kate and Jack Johnson, and her brothers Arnold and Neil Johnson.
Linda is survived by her husband George of 55 years of marriage, daughters Vicki (Kevin), Shannon (Bob), her grandchildren Anthony, Emily Jarred and Blake, and great granddaughter Ava, as well as her adopted family, Chris and Stacie Powell and their family.
Linda was born and raised in Nanaimo, BC, and lived here all her life raising her family. Linda graduated high school and attended Malaspina College where she completed a secretarial course, and went on to work for Cunningham Drug Store Post Office for a number of years before starting her family in 1971.
She later worked with her brother Neil and husband George in numerous businesses until she retired at the age of 60.
Linda's first love was her family, but most of all her pride and joy were her grandchildren. Anytime she was given the opportunity to take care of them, she jumped at the chance. Linda lived for creating family memories, most often at the family cabin at Horne Lake and was famous for her family meals during the holidays. (P.S. Grandma made the best sandwiches in the world)
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wells and the ICU nurses at NRGH for their compassion and care.
No service by request. Donations made in her memory to BC Cancer Research graciously appreciated.
