March 5, 1932 - September 23, 2021
In loving memory ~ Letitia Marks of Chemainus B.C. passed away peacefully September 23,2021 with family by her side.
Tish was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan and moved with her family to B.C. when she was a young child. She grew up in White Rock where she graduated high school, and then moved to Victoria to attend teacher's college. It was there she met her husband Maurice. After they married, Tish and Mauricce moved to Chemainus and began teaching at Chemainus Elementary School. Tish loved her time as a grade one teacher and put her talents to use later in raising their children.
Tish made many good friends in Chemainus and was involved in several community groups, including the United Church Women's Auxiliary, a neighbourhood sewing circle and the "Digger's Club" which she and Maurice started with some like minded friends. Many family holidays revolved around exploring ghost towns and searching for artifacts.
Tish was predeceased by her husband Maurice and by her late in life companion Bert. She leaves to grieve her passing her children Kari (Ash), Michael (Susan), and Nancy (Andrew), her grandchildren Birch, Shay, Nick, Katie, Graeme and Camille, and her great-grandchildren Clara and Rosie.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Chemainus Health Care Centre for their compassionate care of Tish. We also wish to thank Dr. Manhas for his wise and caring attention to Tish over the years.
There will be a family gathering in the spring to honour Tish's wish that her ashes be spread near her family home.
