In loving memory ~
We are saddened to announce the passing of Leslie Ann O'Connell on March 24, 2023, after a 2-year turbulent battle with Alzheimer's. From the very beginning of her diagnosis, she knew that she would never want to go into care. When the time was right, she chose to do MAID. She was surrounded by the love of her sister, niece, and special friends she had invited to help celebrate her decision. Heaven gained another angel and there would have been many loved ones to greet her.
Leslie is survived by her sister Dawn-Marie, nephew Corey (Juno), niece Sarah (Blake), great-nephew James, and great-niece Shelby. Her life partner Arni, parents Bill O'Connell & Phyllis Nicholson, and brother-in-law Jamie predeceased her.
Leslie had a wonderful sense of humour, loved to travel, liked to write funny poetry, and was an awesome sister, aunt, and friend. She was one of the first gals to enroll in the auto mechanic program at George P. Vanier and in her early teens played in an all-girls band call the Mind Explosions.
Special thanks to Dr. Tanja Daws, Dr. Carol Ostry, Dr. Trish Murphy, and the Geriatric Team of Kim & Allison for your outstanding care, kindness, and support.
She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
