Leone Bliss passed away on September 20, 2020 at home, in Campbell River, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on December 24, 1949 in Powell River to Charles (Chuck) and Kathryn (Sis) Wilcocks.
Leone grew up in Powell River. She graduated from Max Cameron Secondary School in 1967. Leone did not attend post-secondary school until 1997 when she attended North Island College and completed the Office Administration Program.
Leone married George Parker in May 1969. They were married for 20 years and had two children together, Adam and Zoe.
After moving to Campbell River Leone worked at various positions including Food Services Hostess at the Royal Coachman pub for 8 years, as a Receptionist for several local companies and finished her career as Receptionist for Marine Harvest Canada for 8 years.
Leone was an active volunteer serving as Secretary and board member of the Campbell River Beacon Club and as an activities volunteer for New Horizons Seniors Home for many years. She loved animals and was involved with "Paws for a Cause" and the SPCA.
Leone remarried in 2002 and is survived by her spouse Michael (Mickey), her son Adam (Holly) of Nanaimo and daughter Zoe (Doug) of Courtenay; her grandchildren Ray, Andrew, Ashley, Aiden and Ming and many cousins.
Leone loved to be with her grandchildren and loved to cook. She loved to travel and achieved her lifetime ambition to visit Machu Pichu in Peru, in 2018. She was also a master gardener attending to her magnificent garden every year. A joy to behold. Her oasis in the city.
Leone was a regular at the Sportsplex morning exercise classes several days a week for many years, meeting with her many friends.
At this time, a Celebration of Life will not be held. Donations can be made to the BC Children's Hospital, in her name. Her Facebook page has been memorialized.
