June 24, 1942 - July 19, 2020
Leila was born in North Vancouver BC and moved to Willow Point in 1945. She was predeceased by her parents Donald and Leila, brother Don and youngest daughter Jackie Rankin.
Leila is survived by her daughters Toni Tuttle (Rick), Jolene Reiling (Terry), grandchildren Amanda, Brittany, Brandon, Lana, Michael, Kristi, Nicki, great grandchildren Kiana, Makayla, Jacob, Linden, Brother Jim (Lynne), nieces and nephews.
Leila was fiercely independent and always lived life her way. A single mother since the 1960's, raising three daughters, she was a hard-working trailblazer. Leila ran a foster home during the 1970's and gave refuge to over 63 children in need.
She was a bookkeeper flying into remote areas for clients until she became a realtor and began working for Block Bros in 1979. After working at various realty offices, she wanted to be her own boss so created Willow Point Realty and Property Management in 1995. Leila devoted her life to the business until her retirement in 2017.
Leila had a small group of friends, including the weekly Canasta Clan, who were her second family. In particular is Beverly Ebert who was her constant companion for the past five years. The family is forever grateful for Bev's devotion. Special thanks to Dr Farias, nurse Eliza and the home support team for their caring and compassion in Leila's final days.
Leila's 15-year battle with cancer came to a peaceful end at home with family by her side. The family will be hosting a drop in celebration on Sunday, August 9 between 1 pm - 4 pm at Leila's home, #10 2699 Soderholm Road. No flowers please.
