In loving memory ~
Lawrence Hugh Stanly Thompson passed away on Nov. 19th 2022 in Powell River Hospital. Larry lived life to the fullest. His sense of humor was known by all as no one could tell a story like Larry. He would captivate people with his tales of his life escapades and have them shedding tears of laughter. He had the charisma that one could only understand if you spent time talking to him.
Through his life he had a love for fishing, hang gliding, and his motorcycle. At the age of 65 he went bungee jumping backwards as well as getting himself a hover board. His love of music was evident and started playing guitar again in his later years.
Larry was born an artist with his favorite being Intarsia Woodworking. If a person is lucky enough to own a piece of his work, they can testify to its beauty. He put his heart and soul into each piece up until about 3 years ago when his health mysteriously began to fail. He loved the simpler and happy life which he showed with his Calvin and Hobbes tattoo.
Larry was predeceased by his father Stan Thompson, his Mom Marjorie Thompson (nee McCusker), Brother Bobby Thompson, sis Dorothy and his son Shawn Thompson plus his much-loved animals that he had throughout his life as well as many other beloved family members and friends. He has left behind his loving wife Diane Thompson and his cherished dog Missy as well as his sister Laura Ward (Thompson) and her partner Barry Blacklaw, his stepson Craig Caignou. His grandchildren Megan, Quinn, Brooke, Kendric, Korri and Kennedy. Nieces and Nephews Troy, Brandy, Skyleen and Kearah and their families.
So much love exists in this family, and he has taken a piece of our hearts with him. He will be missed more than words can express.
Until we meet again.
