Laura Jean Blake

It is with deep gratitude for a life well lived, but also with profound sadness, we announce the death of Laura Jean (Foulds) Blake on March 20, 2018.

Laura was predeceased by husband Richard of 55 years, her parents (Adeline and Robert) and her three sisters (Mary, Phoebe and Pearl).

She was a graduate of the Owen Sound General Marine Hospital. After some time, she and three other classmates decided to travel to Calgary becoming staff members of the Calgary General Hospital. From Calgary, they moved on to Prince Rupert, B.C. joining the staff at the Rupert General Hospital.

It was in Prince Rupert where Laura and Richard met, married, and made their home. Laura spent several years nursing at the Rupert General Hospital before joining the staff at the Green Medical Clinic.

In 1990, Richard and Laura moved to Campbell River and remained until both their deaths.

Laura was an avid reader, enjoyed her music and hobby of antique collecting, as well as interior decoration. She was also passionate about animal care.

At Laura’s request there will be no formal service, only a private ceremony will be attended by the family.

If so desired memorial donations in Laura’s name can be made to the Campbell River SPCA or the Campbell River Hospital Foundation.
