July 11, 1944 - July 11, 2022
In loving memory ~
On July 11, 2022 we said goodbye to our husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he was surrounded by love.
Lance was born in Comox to Oliver and Ruby Larson, and was raised mainly in logging camps on Vancouver Island with Courtenay as a home base. Later his family moved to Egmont on the Sunshine Coast where they operated logging camps in Jervis Inlet area, mainly Osgoode Creek. Lance made many life long friends in Egmont and he never stopped telling stories of working and hunting with his Dad and friends in Jervis Inlet.
He married Carolyn and together they had three children, Dwayne, Darren and Kyla. After early years in Egmont, and a short time in Mackenzie BC, they settled to raise their family on their farm in the Comox Valley enjoying weekends skiing, camping and hunting .
Lance logged, drove truck operated his backhoe and later worked for Chinook Forest Products until he retired.
In 1992 he met Dianne and they married in 1996 and enjoyed 30 years of love, laughter friends and years of hunting, boating, fishing and camping. He also helped raise two step children, Brad and Eric who he loved as his own.
As well, he welcomed to his family his daughter-in-law Sarah, son-in-law Matthias and daughter-in-law Amber who he enjoyed and loved.
Lance was also blessed with 3 grandsons Ethan, Jacob and Adam and 2 step grandsons Dawson and Ashton, plus Chester, who he thought of as his own.
Lance is survived by his family above as well as his siblings, Lyn, Trudy, Fred, Lew, and Kristi and many nieces and nephews.
He will be forever missed and will be in our hearts always.
