It is with sadness that the family of Ken Greer announces his passing on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the age of 86 years.

Ken was born in 1931 and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1952. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1984. Ken met the love of his life, Gwyn, while stationed in PEI. They are parted only by his passing. While in the armed forces, he moved frequently in service of his country and career. Ken served on many bases from coast to coast as well as 3 tours in Germany.

Their son Carl and daughter Linda were born while in Portage la Prairie, MB and son Paul was born while serving in Greenwood, NS. Outside of career, Ken's passion was for Judo, becoming a 3rd degree black belt and starting Judo clubs for kids at several bases. These endeavours earned the respect of not only his peers, but also the Governor General's Award for the Military Medal of Merit. Upon retiring to the Comox Valley, Ken became an active member of the Kiwanis Club and spent 15 years as a volunteer for the Comox Tourist Bureau.

He took up fishing, then found a passion for golf and spent his remaining good years both enjoying golf as well as finding time to drive the cancer van regularly from Comox to Victoria for the Masonic Lodge.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Gwyn; children Carl (Daphne), Linda, and Paul; grandchildren Ken, and Angela (Barry); great grandchildren Austin and Olivia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
