July 6, 2020
On Monday, July 6th, 2020, Kay Rozzano, Ladysmith pioneer, peacefully passed away.
For 100 years, Kay was proud to call Ladysmith home. In her younger days, she could be seen, riding her bike around town, or swimming at the local beaches. Kay held various jobs; her first at the Ladysmith Post Office, the laundry, as a telephone operator, and finally at the local drugstore. She received a lifetime achievement award for her volunteer service to the Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary. Kay was a Ladysmith historian - always happy to tell a story about the 'good old days' in her beloved town.
Kay is predeceased by her parents Joe/Palmyre Rozzano, brother Joe, and nephew Michael. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Jean, nieces/nephews, as well as her wonderful Ladysmith friends, including those from her cherished St. Mary's Church.
There will be no service at Kay's request. Just remember the good times and her wonderful sense of humour.
As a new centurion in May, she was quick to point out, "I have been looking forward to this birthday for 100 years!"
Always in our hearts...
