Kathleen (Kay) Day died peacefully at West Haven on December 18, 2018 at the age of 99. Kay was born in Port Alberni in 1919 to Annie and William Crowshaw and lived here her entire life.

Predeceased by her parents, her brothers Ken and Len Crowshaw, her husband Frank Day and her eldest daughter Karen Walker. She leaves behind her daughters Pamela (David), Daphne (Steve), Coral (Grant), Colleen (Craig), and Holly; 13 grand children, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grand children.

Kay graduated from High School and trained as a Stenographer. She was employed by the Alberni Pacific Lumber Company Limited from 1935 until her marriage in 1940. Kay was an artist and wrote beautiful poetry. She loved music and completed the Toronto Conservatory Music Theory, took evening classes in art and small motor repair.

Kay and Frank were active members of St. Albans' Church where she was the Treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary for 40 years. They enjoyed the Chiro Christian Couples Group, Haymakers Square Dancing and playing Bridge with friends.

Mum moved into West Haven in 2001, she was profoundly crippled and became legally blind, but she was always a cheerful patient to visit for her many friends and family.

The family is grateful for the care of Dr. Wendy Johnson, the staff at West Haven and especially Marianne and Trish.

A funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Lutheran Church at 5th and Angus, in Port Alberni, on Monday January 7th, 2019 at 11 am with a light lunch to follow.
