August 1, 1937 – August 13, 2022
In loving memory ~
Karl Stresow passed away peacefully August 13, 2022 at NRGH with friends by his side. Karl was a great man with a kind heart, born August 1, 1937 in Babbin, Pommern Germany – which became part of Poland in 1945. A machinist by trade, Karl immigrated to Canada in 1965, first working in Prince Rupert as a millwright and then at the Nanaimo CIPA sawmill for 28 years. A hard working soul with many talents, he enjoyed nature, camping, biking, and friends and family. He traveled extensively throughout the African continent in his VW camper. Predeceased by his 3 brothers; Karl and their memory will live on in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Mel would like to express her deep gratitude to the kind staff at Malaspina Gardens who cared for Karl over the last 17 months and to NRGH 4th floor nurses, Physicians, and Palliative care for providing Karl much comfort during his final days.
Karl had chosen to be cremated, services will be announced at a later date.
